If you have a lot of different things going on at your wedding in multiple places, directional signs are a cuuuute way to show guests around. And even if they’re not for direction, signs in general can be pretty adorable.

Chandeliers at a wedding add SO much! And you can use them in such different settings – indoors or outdoors, at the ceremony or the reception, they can be glamorous or eclectic.  Talk to a lighting designer, and they can make it all possible!

I am such a fan of fun details, and pennants are a perfect example of that.

You can do ANYTHING with them – the can be any color, any fabric, any size and they can really go anywhere!

Sarah and Daniel have one of those especially sweet and romantic meant-to-be-together stories – dated years back, broke up, lived in separate cities, saw each other again one day, got back together, then quickly realized “Hey! We need to be together forever!” and got engaged. Love.  Originally from Louisiana, Sarah, Daniel, and both of their families have that sweet Southern disposition. Working with them was a JOY.

For their venue, they chose Umlauf Sculpture Garden, a place that screams romance! Rosehip Flora and Ilios Lighting did an amazing job of taking Umlauf’s natural beauty and highlighting that with their designs.  Sarah walked down the aisle looking incredible and carrying a bouquet of pink and orange flowers with petals in those colors dotting the aisle itself. With their wedding party of family – her sister and brother, his brother and father – standing next to them, they were married under a garland of rose petals.

For the reception, Ilios added lanterns and festoon lights to the gazebo and lawn, and Rosehip Flora created centerpieces in the color scheme of fuschias, pinks, and oranges mixed with really natural elements liked branches.  Austin Catering’s food was certainly a crowd pleaser (name one person who wouldn’t love a mashed potato bar!). With Party Posse playing all night, the dancing didn’t stop! Their family and friends had come from Louisiana to eat, drink, and be merry!

The cake display at this November wedding really felt like fall – Cake Plate’s delicious creation sat on top of a tree trunk cross-section cake stand.  And for cake toppers, Sarah and Daniel had a pair of adorable stuffed reindeer (with their initials stitched on the sides!)

For their exit, Sarah and Daniel ran through a shower of rose petals to a waiting pedicab.  (Side note – major props to the pedicab peddler who peddled them all the way back from Umlauf to the Driskill!)

And one more detail just as a perfect example of how loving and caring these two are – instead of traditional gifts for favors, they decided to make donations in honor of their guests to one of two charities – they had cards for guests to pick their charity at the entrance.  It doesn’t get better than that.

You want to see love? Take a look at the picture of Daniel trying to peek during their first glance.  Or the picture of Sarah’s face during the ceremony. That’s love, my friends.

Beautiful photos by Katherine O’Brien Photography (including some of her signature Holga pics at the end!)

Holga!
