kristina + charles
We need to talk about Kristina’s wedding dress. A custom Linda Asaf dress, Kristina collaborated with the designer on every fabric choice and stitch from start to finish and the result is phenomenal. I LOVE it so much! And it fit Kristina like a glove – physically yes, but also her personality. Kristina is a super fun and stylish person everyday, so it only made sense that she had a unique gray dress for her wedding day to Charles.
Kristina and Charles hosted their wedding at the home that they’ve created together in South Austin. It’s a stunning contemporary property and made for the perfect setting for a backyard wedding – but don’t get thrown by “backyard wedding.” I think saying that has a casual connotation, but not so in this case. Their wedding was modern chic and anything but traditional.
They got married by a giant oak tree in the backyard with all their family and friends (and their two handsome pups wearing red ties!) standing around them and then the reception was an upscale cocktail party. Waves and waves of delicious foods were passed by Austin Catering starting with lighter more appetizer-style pieces into heavier more dinner-style foods and then into the cake bars by Blue Note Bakery. There was an Annie Ray photobooth (anyone who’s ever been to an event with Annie Ray knows how much fun she is!), lots of dancing, and plenty of places to hang out in the yard from ottomans to farm tables, to cocktail tables and then their home was open for people to mingle inside the main house, the guest house, or on the dance floor (which was in their carport, but you’d never know it!).
The design needed to keep in the feel of the home, so everything was very contemporary and all in reds. Low red roses in square vases. Red gerber daisies floating in the pool, and my favorite part (something Kristina had mentioned from the beginning), an alternating runner of single rose buds and candles on their wood dining table. And then since it was in the yard, we had candle lanterns all over which added such a romantic element.
Everything turned out so beautifully!
