jessica + alex

Get ready for a REALLY fun one!

Jessica and Alex got married at The Vista on Seward Hill in July and their wedding was colorful and cheerful… a real party.  One of the components of their Custom Coordination Package was design help, and it was a joy to work with them on their beautiful and eclectic design.  At the ceremony, we tied colorful ribbons on the back row of the ceremony chairs and as part of the flowers, Carly with Margot Blair Floral tied sunflowers onto the aisle chairs towards the front.  Speaking of flowers, let’s take a moment and talk about Jessica’s bouquet.  When we started talking about flowers, Jessica had a very specific request – she wanted a big, bright bouquet.  And she got exactly what she wanted.  Her bouquet was incredible! Each of her bridesmaids wore the same rust colored dress, but to make it colorful and tie the look to the ceremony decor, Jessica purchased pom-pom yarn and had each of the girls tie it around their waist as a belt. And Jessica had the same yarn around her bouquet.  Now, it’s no secret that I’m a sucker for a floral crown. And luckily, Jessica is too! I think it was actually one of her favorite parts of the day, and it looked just gorgeous on her!

Inside the dinner, the linens were rust colored to match the girls’ dresses. Each of the centerpieces was different from the next, a cluster of mismatched eclectic vases with colorful groupings of flowers.  And at each place-setting, we placed a madlib, a golf pencil, and some custom chocolates. Guests enjoyed the Tex-Mex dinner by Royal Fig Catering, and even though it was July in Texas, it was an amazing weather night, and many guests opted to hang out and eat in the courtyard outside.

And then, on to the dancing! In the reception spot, Jessica made a giant backdrop out of orange, blue, and white crepe paper with a glittery gold “Til Death Do Us Party” sign hanging across it as the backdrop for the cake table.  Her cake matched the backdrop colors and was made for her by her really talented friend.  After lots of dancing, it was time for their exit.  Jessica changed into a red dress while we handed out… wait for it… KAZOOS.  They exited into their waiting limo, but there was no after party for these two since they had to get up super early the next morning for their flight to Thailand for their honeymoon.  Zero sympathy.
