nell + matt
Nell and Matt’s summer Houston wedding took place at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with the reception at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. The overall design for the event was a theme of a summer garden party.
For the ceremony, Nell wore a veil with lots of family history and her bridesmaids were in various shades of blues and purples. The flowers by In Bloom fit into the design perfectly with purple and blue hydrangea. Very summer!
The Houston Museum of Natural Science made for a very cool setting for a reception. When guests first arrived, they headed in cocktail hour in the Gem Hall upstairs. And then everyone moved down into the foyer for dinner and dancing. Also available to guests was the Cockrell Butterfly Center to wander through and hang out. The wedding was catered by Acute Catering with music by The Argyles. The reception flowers continued the garden party feel – Nell’s mother had a lovely vision of white antique-looking birdcages filled with flowers and little butterfly accents as a nod to the museum.
Since Nell and Matt live in Boston, the wedding closed out, appropriately, with a packed dance floor and “Sweet Caroline.” Congrats to the happy couple!
