Are you ready? No seriously. Are you ready for a serious boatload of pretty?
Lisa and Alex’s wedding was a BLAST to plan! Initially, I was hired for month-of coordination which was already so much fun. Talk about two seriously awesome people, Lisa and Alex are just such a perfect match. Any time we would have a meeting, it would turn into hours of just chatting and laughing hysterically.
And then midway through the process, Lisa added on design help. And that meant EVEN MORE FUN! How to describe their amazingly beautiful wedding? Glitter, brass, and antlers? Eclectic chic? I don’t think I could come up with an accurate description. Lisa had collected a bunch of pieces from wood boxes to antlers to slats to vases that she wanted to incorporate into the wedding, so we took what she already had, edited the pieces down into a theme, and then scavenged for more. We had afternoons at the Antique Mall, crafting sessions, and then mocking everything up in my apartment. Plus a trip to Loot Vintage to pick out some more fun pieces. Then came the pinterest party! We collected lots of photos of the flower arrangements we wanted, I put together a powerpoint for Carly at Margot Blair to work from outlining every centerpiece and the style of arrangement for it. Lisa gold dipped feathers for the cake table and we collected tons of candle holders, accented some with gold rims and glitter. And the end result? Spectacular.
Mercury Hall was the perfect setting for their wedding, and we were lucky to score an unseasonably warm January day for the wedding. It was in the 70s for the outdoor ceremony! They got married under the oak trees with an Incan band playing for the ceremony music. After cocktails on the gravel, everyone moved inside for dinner (Royal Fig is always amazing! And the signature drinks that they came up with fit everything perfectly) and dancing.
I just adore these two.
OK, now scroll down and soak up their amazing wedding day!

I’m just gonna say it. I got shortchanged.
Nancy, Jason and I did all of their wedding planning over the phone and email. In fact, I never met them until the night before the wedding at their Rehearsal. So in total, I have only hung out with them in person for less than 24 hours, and well, that is UNFAIR. I adore these two!!!
They got married at Villa Del Lago which has some of the most stunning views I’ve seen! It was a gorgeous spring day and the entire venue is outdoors with an open air pavilion, so that made for just the perfect setting for a lovely garden wedding with lake views. The sunset that evening was unreal.
Nancy and Jason wanted an easy afternoon wedding and then to hang out with their friends – and what better way to do that than with BBQ and cupcakes? The Salt Lick catered their dinner and then they had the Cupcake Bar for the desserts. Custom cupcakes are always a huge crowd pleaser and this was no exception!
Mollie with Bloom Photography captured their beautiful day. And then a bonus photo at the end of this post! Nancy sent me an email almost exactly a year after the wedding with a photo that we had taken together. Nancy and Jason are just such a lovely couple!
Getting married on New Year’s Eve adds a whole other element of excitement to a wedding day! And what a way to start a new year – your first day of officially being married!
Jenny and Steve got married at Star Hill Ranch – they tied the knot in the Fitzhugh building, then had dinner and dancing in the school house reception hall. Even a little bit of misty rain couldn’t dampen the excitement of their beautiful wedding! Melanie with Last Petal did an amazing job with the design and all of the flowers – everything was stunning! The design was a vintage feel with an Indian flair – brass, peacock feathers, and lush blooms. And lots of personal elements as well like the couple’s prayer flags and the sari that Jenny had worn at their Hindu ceremony which had taken place in the Catskills. The wedding was catered by Austin Catering with lighting and music provided by Altared Weddings. Simon Lee Bakery did an amazing job with the bake-sale style array of cakes.
And then on top of everything, the guests got to ring in the new year together which meant lots of fun party props, light-up toys, masks, and noisemakers to kick off the new year with a bang!

Judith and Cole are just amazing. Working with them never ever felt like work because of how fun and funny and awesome they are! And their’s was one of the most epic dance floors I have ever seen. But we’ll get to that in a a minute.
They tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony at Covenant Presbyterian Church and then were ready to celebrate at The Driskill. The Driskill in and of itself is a beautiful setting – can’t get better than a historic hotel in the middle of downtown Austin! And then add into that gorgeous blooms by Bouquets of Austin and an A-Team of vendors including Jake Holt, Waterloo Films, Ilios Lighting, and The Pictures, and you’ve got the recipe for an incredible night.
So now, to that dance floor. I try to include a variety of photos whenever I blog about a couple, but I couldn’t resist posting lots and lots from the dance floor – how could I possibly pick only a few? Judith and Cole and their guests had a blast dancing the night away, and Jake did an amazing job of capturing it all!
I think their exit flags pretty much summarize the day – YAY!
Every now and then, you meet someone, and it feels like you were just supposed to be friends with this person. Brittany is one of those people for me. From the second that we met, she felt like an old friend and we were making fun of each other like we’d been friends forever.
Planning her wedding to Jason was a blast – mostly because the two of them are just so fun, so hilarious. Plus, as a planner, it’s always exciting when someone comes to you wanting something totally different. I had never planned an event at Ballet Austin before, so that in and of itself made things exciting – it’s a blank canvas of a space with a very contemporary edge. And Brittany and Jason wanted everything to feel fun, modern, and colorful – even MORE exciting.
Each space in Ballet Austin allowed us to do different things. The ceremony took place on the diagonal into the corner of the Adlerland Room (with a beautiful hanging flower backdrop by Bouquets of Austin). From there, the guests moved into the Armstrong Connelly Room for cocktail hour. And finally, dinner and dancing took place in the Austin Ventures Studio Theater. We kept their rentals in black and silver, and then added lots of color with other design elements. Probably one of my favorite things about being in Ballet Austin was all of the lighting possibilities! In every room, we had so many options, so each space looked so different and dynamic. And Bouquets of Austin did an amazing job with the bright flowers – Brittany’s bouquet is a perfect example. So colorful and fun!
Love this wedding, love these two people.

When I first moved to Austin, I was lucky to get an internship with Bella Flora Creative under the direction of the lovely Harper. When Harper got engaged to the man of her dreams and gave me a call about coordinating her wedding to Jimmy, there was no hesitation. I was so honored to be her Wedding Coordinator.
Harper and Jimmy’s wedding at their beautiful ranch in South Austin was a stylish, southern, romantic affair with a vintage flair and a dash of rock star amazingness. Every piece of the design at their wedding felt in and out just like the two of them. Taking place entirely outside under the big Texas sky with Catering by Primizie and lovely flowers by Unexpected Elements, Harper and Jimmy exchanged vows, their guests ate an amazing dinner on wooden farm tables, and then everyone danced the night away. Literally. This was a dance floor that wouldn’t quit! But since they were at home, they could keep partying with their friends all night long (some were even lucky enough to be staying in trailers on the property!)

These two are SO sweet. And not only were they just a pleasure to get to know and to work with, on top of that, Bethany mentioned when we were planning that, without getting into it as far as a theme, she wanted to incorporate some Halloween inspired decor into the wedding. I couldn’t help but be SO excited! Their wedding was at the beautiful Vista West Ranch in Dripping Springs in late October, and it was such a fun one! Delicious food by Royal Fig Catering and gorgeous fall florals by Petal Pushers, all captured beautifully by Lisa Hause with Studio 563.
I love illusion necklines! To me, there is something so vintage and classic about them. I think of something that Audrey Hepburn or Elizabeth Taylor would wear. Illusion necklines now could have pearls or crystals woven into them. They are simply gorgeous!!

There are so many fun types of wedding favors! Below are just a few of the nonedible favors that you could use on your big day. Wedding favors are a great way to be creative and your guests will absolutely love them!

Seating at the ceremony – you’ve got to have it. But who says you need to stick to traditional chairs?
